Ontario 03:39
As we were drivin' up Blue Moon Road We met a man walkin' in the snow And he said hey you where ya goin'? Are you headed to Ontario? Lend me an ear and I'll tell you all I know Oh the things I've seen in a lifetime Oh the tales I'll tell if you'll drive my tired bones to Ontario Goin' to Ontario Goin' to Ontario io And the engine chokes and the brake drum smokes And the heater's broke and we're goin' to Ontario Hey did ya hear about the cannibals in the woods he said Three foot taller than a sasquatch They'll eat you right down to the wristwatch And make soup from your bones and snow Back in the winter of Forty-eight When the snow piled up to Heaven's gate There were snowplows lost without a trace On the road to Ontario Goin' to Ontario Goin' to Ontario io And the engine chokes and the brake drum smokes And the coffee's cold and the heater's broke And the cold winds blow There's a storm comin' up from Ohio May the moon point out the least traveled route May the wine hold out til we get to Ontario And the cold winds blow From Aurora down to Buffalo And we hope you get a ride to Ontario

Captain Radon got away, he's heading out to space Took away my baby as a drink went in my face Broke his oath to help the human race Cuts a striking figure at the helm of Spaceship Three Quite the seasoned traveler as he tours the cosmic sea Beloved by anyone he can deceive And if he won't bring her back Fifty light years won't dissolve our pact Faster than the speed of sound He snatched her up and blasted off And left behind a toxic cloud of black On a summer night When Andromeda comes into sight Somewhere in the Northwest you might see her catch the light And if he won't bring her back Fifty light years won't dissolve our pact Faster than the speed of sound He snatched her up and blasted off And left behind a toxic cloud of black

To Do 03:26
There's a coffee stain on my rug And I like the way the moonlight hits it every now and then Maybe I should clean it off Maybe I should take its picture, then again The hour's getting late Accidentally came across the number on the cocktail napkin Thought that maybe I would call First I got some things to do Replace the smoke alarm or patch the bedroom wall The timing's not so great So I'll put your name on my to do list Hell I hope that I'm about to find the time The clock is grinning at me from the mantle Contemplating his next crime I don't have much time One day when the stars align I'll call you if I'm so inclined, but I'm Ever closer to the end with each new chime I'm sure that I could change the world if I could find the time Watching as the dust floats in the air I like the way it looks when the sun comes in at four There's something I was gonna do I just remembered - I am gonna put your name on my to do list Hell I hope that I'm about to find the time The clock is grinning at me from the mantle Contemplating his next crime We don't have much time We don't have much time We don't have much time...

Can you tell me where I can Find an old paint thinner can Or maybe an old beat up cookie tin Gonna make myself a violin I'll scrounge around and find some strings Here where the rich throw out their things Perhaps by chance they've cast away A book or two on how to play Thrown out fork and Bordeaux cork Will make some fine detail Might be crazy but this mind of mine Is quite inclined to go off wandering On a grand scale Someday I will build a house Of boxes from fine cigars On the porch by light of a torch I'll carve some ornate trimmings into the fingerboard Underneath the stars And when I make my tin can violin I'll play you Rachmaninoff and Beethoven And if you walk away I'll say to my violin Remember you are only made of tin

Bonfire Song 04:32
Come out and play Come and jump into the fray Keep all the bonfires burnin' While the world out here is churnin' On and on we call upon and welcome all who passed along We conjure up, we drink the cup, go on creating ...celebrating --- (Counterpoint vocal): --- We decree that all practitioners of rituals --- Not of the state's accord shall perish by the sword Autumn is in the air They burned my books and I don't care Chase all the light away And keep the morning sun at bay The year's on the turn again The veil between the worlds is thin Stay out until the dawn And harm no one, harm no one Look who's comin' to the front door You've seen 'em before Wake up, wake up, wake up, come on out they say Then fade away, fade away Feed desire and light the pyre and throw a cake upon the fire Though emperor and church conspire, keep on creating ...celebrating --- (Counterpoint vocal): --- Be advised that all your holidays have been appropriated --- And your spirit world repopulated Look who's comin' to the front door You've seen 'em before Wake up, wake up, wake up, come on out they say Before the darkness slips away Come out and play Come and jump into the fray Keep all the bonfires burnin' While the world out here is churnin' Chase all the light away And keep the morning sun at bay Throw some of your sweet stuff my way-yay-yay... And come out and play!

about

These songs originated over several years of scribbling down musical and lyrical ideas while staying up too late playing an acoustic guitar. That instrument forms the core of much of the music, but I grew curious about adding more richness and began dabbling in keyboards and bass. Still missing at that point was the instrument I was born playing - drums - so that had to come next.

The result is a sound that wavers between folk, jazz, and rock, with an unpolished edge that can come only from someone wandering up and down the scales like a child exploring a new toy!
